Joseph (Joe) Wright handles criminal and family cases for Martin & Wall, LLC. This includes misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, and family cases involving divorce, modification, guardianship and parental abuse and neglect. Joe practices in, but is not limited to, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Laclede, Polk, Webster and Wright counties.
Joe grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from St. Louis University High School in 2003. While in high school, Joe participated in several extracurricular activities including club lacrosse and the rifle team. Joe was also an avid Boy Scout, earning his Eagle Scout award in 2001. Joe then attended the University of Oklahoma on a full ride scholarship as a National Merit Finalist. Joe graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2007 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. His emphasis was in Marketing, with a minor in Accounting.
After working for an investment banking firm that specialized in mergers and acquisitions, Joe decided to attend the University of Missouri School of Law. He earned his Juris Doctorate in 2011, graduating in the top 30 percent of his class. While in law school, Joe was an active member of the University of Missouri Board of Advocates where he participated in a number of competitive events including the mock trial competition. Joe also participated in internships at the U.S. Attorney’s Office and the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office.
Joe passed the Missouri Bar Exam in the Fall of 2011. He began his legal career as a prosecuting attorney in Callaway County, Missouri. He later moved and continued as a prosecutor in Greene County, Missouri. By the end of his tenure there, Joe was primarily focused on major felonies including assault, robbery, arson and murder. Joe left the prosecutor’s office and joined Martin & Wall, LLC in May of 2019. Joe understands better than most the ins and outs of the justice system.
